Virtual Scholars (VS) blended online courses offered during Evening and Summer Scholars follow either the “flex” or “cohort” model. Both are self-paced, online courses, taught by highly qualified PPS Virtual Scholars teachers. Course offerings vary during the school year and are updated on the VS website and the PES/SS website at the beginning of each session.
VS COHORT@PES
VS Teachers are in class during PES and SS sessions. VS COHORT courses are NCAA approved.
The VS COHORT model works well for students who want to try online and take advantage of the self-paced model while also being able to access the VS teacher during the entire class period face-to-face.
INFORMATION ABOUT School Year 2017-18 will be posted in September 2017.
Fall 2016- VS COHORT @PES is on Tuesday evenings.
- Available courses are FPC 1 & 2, CHEM 1 & 2, BIO 1 & 2 English 5, 6, 7 and 8

VS FLEX @PES
VS Mentors are in class during PES and SS sessions. VS teachers work with students via email, online chat, and video conferencing. VS FLEX courses are not NCAA approved.
The VS FLEX model works well for students who have experience with online already or who feel comfortable with technologies such as video conferencing to access the teacher more online rather than face-to-face.
