Degrees and Certifications:

Dawn Jardine

Dawn’s early years were spent between Texas and Arizona, with her family finally settling in the Beaverton area in the middle of her sophomore year of high school. After graduating from Aloha High School, Dawn obtained her bachelor’s degree and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Portland. She worked as a professional writer and editor in the healthcare field until 2007, when she earned her MAT from the University of Portland and shifted her passion for writing to the ELA classroom. Dawn’s experience in education spans over 15 years, with roles as an ELA teacher, teacher-librarian, health teacher, and school administrator. Dawn is certified in ELA, health, and K-12 library media. She is most excited about the opportunity to build strong relationships with Virtual Scholars students while providing individualized ELA instruction. In her life outside of work, Dawn enjoys traveling with her husband and adult daughters (favorite trip so far is Portugal), kayaking (any lake in Central Oregon will do!), reading (favorite recent book is The Firekeeper’s Daughter, by Angeline Boulley), experiencing live music of any kind, and supporting the Portland Timbers and Thorns!
