Daniel Stanion

Daniel was born and raised in Modesto, California. He graduated from Fred C. Beyer High School, earned his Bachelor of Arts from CSU Stanislaus, and recently earned his Master of Arts in Education from Brandman University. Daniel taught a variety of high school English classes, provided Literacy Support services, and advised students on their college or career pathways for five years in California before moving to Portland in 2021to join the Virtual Scholars team. He has years of experience working with diverse student populations and helping students to thrive in difficult circumstances. Daniel’s favorite aspect of blended/online learning is that students can work at a pace that is most beneficial to them and their learning goals - students can take their time when they need to, or move more quickly through content that they more readily understand. When he is not working with his students, Daniel can be found exploring the natural beauty of his new home in the PNW with his wife, traveling the world (when it’s safe again, of course), or at home reading whatever Science Fiction or Fantasy series caught his eye. “Don’t wish, Miss tick had said. Do things.” -Sir Terry Pratchett, Wee Free Men
